Blaney McMurtry

Blaney McMurtry is a Canadian firm that flies under the radar of its larger, so-called “Seven Sisters” (the seven largest firms in Canada, an analogue to the Magic Circle firms in London) because of its size and focus. The firm has an outstanding reputation among insurance carriers plus a remarkable real estate profile among developers in Toronto, as well as other practices that merit attention. As the legal market changes and firms collapse and consolidate into even larger behemoths, Blaneys is quite content to focus solely on Ontario. However, its old marketing materials and website did not do justice to today’s firm.

The new site clearly locates the firm in downtown Toronto. Clients’ outstanding testimonials from Chambers, among others, are highlighted and used throughout the website, advertising and other sales tools. The “Blaneys” road sign in the ad on the left is a complete invention, but its message is clear—look for us here, downtown.
