Oy to the World

I fished out from the basement this lighted twig thing that said “JOY” to station at the entry to our house for the holidays. It was lovely, really, but within twenty-four hours, the “J” had gone dead and since then, the message has been “OY.” When my wife and I came down the path to discover the electrical edit, we doubled over with laughter because nothing could describe our feelings better coming into the New Year. We are indeed joyful for everything—our family and friends, our clients and colleagues. At the same time, the New Year brings trepidation that can only be said to make us “oyful.” Let it not be so. Let us be joyful.
