On the Grid — Traveling the World Through the Eyes of CreativesBy Charlene Peterson
November 13, 2015
A design agency in Brooklyn created On the Grid, a website where designers and creative agencies from around the world are invited to share what they love best about their neighborhoods and cities. The site launched in April of 2015 and since then, hundreds of designers and creative companies have joined the fun—new city pages launch every day. If you are chosen to be an “Ambassador” of your city or neighborhood, you photograph and write about 20-30 of your favorite places for the Grid.
The goal was to create a simple, user-friendly guide and www.onthegrid.city has more than accomplished it. The site is easy to read and easy to navigate. Each city is shown with a clean and simple illustration and everything about the site is intuitive. When you choose a city to “discover,” you find beautiful photographs and well-written descriptions about everything from hotels to donut shops to vintage clothing stores. Did you know that Ziferblat is a tree house for grown-ups in the city of Ljubljana? This is just one of the gems that you will discover on this website!
