Mobile-Friendly Sites Will Rank Higher on Mobile Searches

In a recent announcement, Google outlined a significant change to their search results that will go into effect Tuesday, April 21st.

More mobile-friendly websites in search results

Google continually changes their algorithm to deliver what they deem as the most accurate results. In a few weeks, when a search is conducted from a mobile device, Google will start ranking mobile-friendly websites higher than non mobile-friendly sites. Note, at this time this change only impacts MOBILE searches, not DESKTOP searches.

What does this mean for you? A mobile optimized or responsive site is now a must-have. Without it, your website will be penalized with a drop in mobile search results, costing you traffic and potentially business.
