Abbey Road Studios has partnered with Google to deliver an interactive site that for the first time ever, allows an inside look at the world famous recording studio from top to bottom. If you aren’t familiar, Abbey Road Studios is the place where musical legends have gone for years to make hits. Among the long list of star-studded artists the British recording studio can claim are The Beatles, Paul MacCartney, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, Sam Smith, Amy Winehouse, Adele and Kanye West to name a few.
Enter Inside Abbey Road. The fluid movement around each of the many twists and turns make you forget that you are sitting at a desk and staring at a computer screen, instead of actually inside the studio. The site uses panoramic technology that has been pieced together to allow a 365-degree view of everything, from floor to ceiling. In addition to the great view, the user can also get guided audio tours, discover behind-the-scenes stories and explore the classics. Choose from three different studios or a mastering room to explore. Upon entering each studio, you are greeted with an introduction video, which gives a brief overview of the studio artists and features of each. A hamburger menu located in the upper right corner of each page provides a tour, gadget, video, image or story that is connected to that location.
The site has so many great features—you truly have to see for yourself. So make sure you have your headphones plugged in, the volume cranked up, sit back and enjoy the musical ride Inside Abbey Road is about to take you on.
