Sometimes, simple is better. Actually, most of the time. But, simplicity does not have to mean boring, or non-descript, or lacking character or flair. The Case3D site is refreshingly simple, yet possesses little pieces of personality that carry it into the realm of appreciated.
Note the transitional logo as the first page loads, see how it builds on itself, not only in a fun and visually appealing
Visit a detail page for one of their case studies, pages that display their work. Movement is gently and subtle, colors are sparse but appropriate. Consider how easily the page transitions from bottom to top, first with the adjustment of the center V displaying the image, then the floating headlines that show up as the user scrolls. As you travel from page to page, watch the screen shift almost like the opening of a book; the colored panels moving from left to right.
Nothing flashy, the site is not deep, but it evokes a feeling of calm—and of interest.
Sneak a peak, it won't take long.
