Greenfield Belser has been a Finn Partners company for almost two years. This year we are adopting the new Finn brand style we created for the firm that is on the second spread of our book. That’s exciting for all of us here at Finn, but that’s hardly all that has been going on this past year. Airbus Group Flies Ahead with Their Online Annual Report

An annual report is a once-a-year opportunity for public organizations to engage, educate and attract investors, prospective employees and potential partners. These reports are known for being packed with text, pictures, numbers and charts, and for that reason, they can come off as never ending. Only now are we seeing companies take advantage of the digital age in this regard. AirbusGroup released it’s first digital annual report for the public to see as they #FlyAhead.

The standout feature of this site—the feature we want to emphasize this week—is the online digital annual report showcase. By existing as its own microsite, the report stands out against other more traditional documents. Its interactive nature ads a refreshing feel. When you scroll through the site, headlines transition in and out, easing the user deeper into the site. As a side note, these transitions are eerily similar to something we did for Pepper Hamilton. The option to “learn more” is present every step of the way. If you choose to click this button you will prompted with a screen showcasing facts about the company and its most recent year of success. You can swipe either left or right to read almost as if it were spreads in a physical annual report. The fact that this site is colorful, digital and interactive, makes the site engaging and far more interesting than anything on paper.

Airbus Timeline

Another cool feature, located in the bottom right of the page, is the “flight view.” By selecting this users get a very nice “timeline” showing them their current “flight status in the air.” The addition of animated statistics is very nice as well. Airbus Group definitely used the platform of digital media to enhance their brand by showcasing their annual with points for engaging and interaction with the viewer.
