Greenfield Belser has been a Finn Partners company for almost two years. This year we are adopting the new Finn brand style we created for the firm that is on the second spread of our book. That’s exciting for all of us here at Finn, but that’s hardly all that has been going on this past year. Really, it is impossible to say we love the work we did for one client more than another, but our goal is always to show you a balanced portfolio—across sectors with firms of varying sizes located all around the country. A Site that Won't Make <br>You Drone

For this installment of Site of the Week, I’ve chosen the site of Lehmann Aviation. Since 2005, Lehmann Aviation has developed and manufactured ultra-rugged and cost-effective professional drones for the most demanding missions around the world. The site's mission is  extremely cool, but will have little to do with the post that follows. Let’s get into it.

At first I had a specific mission in mind when reviewing this site. I wanted to investigate page layouts and presentation of information. If it was something I liked, I wanted to think about how our clients could benefit from the layout (similar to my last blog where I thought about using a fashion sites shopping page as a model for a services and industries page). Biographies were on my mind this time, and this is where Lehmann Aviation caught my attention. 


To me, the L-A SERIES detail page is a great model for a professional services bio page. I like the big image/video upon landing. Large page titles could be used in a similar fashion for the professional’s name, title and an overview. I also like the call to action. In this case it is “PRE ORDER”, but it seems it could just as well be “GET IN TOUCH.” Scrolling down to the next panel breaks up detailed information into 3 sections. I can see content we typically reserve for sidebar info here (like education, experience, service areas). At the bottom of this section is a tab to open the "FULL SPECIFICATIONS”—I can easily see “FULL BIO” or something similar. Continuing down the page, the next panel brings up three boxes. Maybe these are fast facts or related bios? Finally toward the very bottom of the page, a nice photo gallery displays. Here, I’m thinking related news items or the like.


Furthermore, as I was digging into this specific detail page, I found myself really enjoying other general aspects of the site as well. I thought the splash page was unique due to its simple header section. The subnav has nice rollover animations, and the horizontal image scroll is also very fresh. Of course the way graphics and content animate in is something that just feels right and that we’ve been incorporating a lot of into our own work. Equally as nice are the subtle rollover effects on the buttons like the logo and the social media icons. The videos are neat too.

Lehmann Aviation has put together a great web experience. Because of that, we have decided to highlight it as our Site of the Week. Take some time and enjoy this site here.
